Neither are considered to be faster than the other. We always recommend I-485 processing simply for the fact that with I-485 you can actually track your petition on the USCIS website whereas with the CP you have to simply wait for the NVC to send you packages in the mail, and if for whatever reason you miss one packet, you are (for lack of a better word) screwed.
