My case was something different.
Actually I filed for labor with my previous employer(PE) on year 2001 and got it approved on year 2003.
Then I have applied for both me and my spouse fo I-140 and I-485 on 2003. But I have changed my employer 4 months after filing for I-140 and I-485 due to some reason.
Within 3 weeks after I quit the previous employer, I have got approved EAD and AP on 2004. But even then I didn't want to go back to my PE again to get continue for this GC process. I have filed for fresh GC with my current employer(CE). After 3 months I have changed employer, my previous I-140 also got approved on 2004. But even then I didn't want to go back to join with my PE.

Meanwhile my new labor got approved with my CE. I have to file for both I-140 and I-485 with my CE. At this time, I have contacted to my PE to cancel my prevoius I-140, he said that he has already sent the I-140 withdrawal request to USCIS. But meanwhile USCIS has sent FP appointments based on previous I-485. I gave Finger Prints.
So when we filed new I-140 and I-485 with my PE, the current lawyer specified that previous I-485 aplication withdrawn, so USCIS has allocated same A# in my new approvals of EAD and AP.

Even though I went to FP for my previous GC, my I-485 status message hasn't changed until my new I-485 got approved. So based on this, what I understood is that the USCIS has considered the previous FP for my new I-485. So the USCIS didn't send new FP appointments for my new I-485.

I hope you may not get confused about this.
