Hello everyone,

I just found out through email notification that my I-485 has been approved today. However, the dependent and husband's cases still have the same message as before; in addition, there is a same LUD on the dependent's case but no LUD on husband's. Is this normal? How long do I usually have to wait for all cases to be approved?

I-485 EB1b, no concurrent filing
RD 8/2005
FP 11/2005
LUD1 11/2005
LUD2 6/2006
LUD3 7/19/2006 (approval)

Congratulation!

Congratulation! Seems like VSC starts to process more EB-1B. Hope your family get card soon! Could you tell us what your priority date is? And what is the exact date of your LUD in June, 2006?

Thanks
qqy

I am actually not sure what the priority date is, is it the date of I-140 approval? I didn't take much notice to the priority date because it appeared, to me at least, that EB1 is "current" most of the time.
The last LUD in June was on 6/21/06 with no message change.

Congratulations! It is encouragaing to see EB1b I-485 approvals.

I think the priority date is the receipt date of your I-140.

Similar situation here. I got approval, but dependent is still pending. Its been more than a month since I got my approval. No LUD for dependent.

RD I485 8/05
LUD 06/06

Dependent's case got the approval this afternoon; however, the spouse's I-485 didn't even have a new LUD... don't know what's going on. Anyway good luck with everyone!!

I beleive it shd be some minor clearance or some documentry evidence requirements which is delaying spouse's case! try taking infopass and asking them about it if not satisfied contact senators or setup enquiry using POJ trick......it really helps!!! All the best!

Priority date is the date LC was approved.

You may find Priority Date on I140 approval letter.

cheeko,

I think since this person is EB1, so he/she didn't have LC. That's the reason I think I-140 receipt date is her priority date.

Does the POJ trick work for VSC or only TSC?

EB1doc thanks a lot!!!

Thanks for suggesting the "POJ trick". It worked. I was able to connect to the VSC service center and talk to an officer who was nice. She said that my I-485 was pending because of "routine security check". I asked whether that meant name check, to which she replied: All I can tell you is that it is "routine security check."

She further said that this line (i.e. the one that I reached by selecting 4 (multiple applications) at the end - POJ trick) was for problem cases and that my case was pending because of "routine security check".

I believe that is euphemism for stuck in name check:)

I had called today because it had been 30 days since I called them. At that time, I don't think I reached VSC - It seemed to be centralized customer service.

Guess I was worrying way too much! Spouse's case got approved today and a card has been ordered following my approval yesterday.

Regarding the PD, I believe my I-140 was approved in April or May of last year. I did not do concurrent filing.

Thanks for the help and good luck to everyone, there is hope--you just have to wait patiently; took me more than 6 yrs to finally get here.

Well, I guess partly due to that I was unfamiliar with the U.S. immigration system when I got here (and even now I only know so much) so at times I didn't take immediate action when I really should.
Went from J visa to H visa and then H extension, and then I believe I had to gather employement letter to document that I have a "permanent position" which again took some while, then I believe it's the NIW and finally the 140, 485 etc. The order may not necessary be correct and I may have made some mistakes as I recollect those distant memories.
But I thought most EB1bs do it this way, is there any drastic differences in procedures? I am curious so let me know.

Oh, ok. I thought 6 years from filing of I-140:) Yes, your route is typical.

I went the F-1 to H1B to I-140/I-485 route. I just completed 10 years in the U.S.

I am waiting on my I-485 approval now. Don't know when the security check will be cleared.
