EB1A Evaluation

ChrisV,

Thanks a lot for your insight.

More questions for you:
1. Will my experience as session chairman in international conference help to claim my research significance?

2. If I become a journal editor, will that significantly change the scenario?

To be honest, I am in a rather traditional engineering area. I don't think I can collect a large number of citations. Even for some papers published 10 years ago by my Ph.D. advisor, only a handful of citations can be found.

1. Answer is yes, it will help to demonstrate your importance in the field, but only marginally.

2. Becoming a journal editor (if the journal is really one of the leading journals in your field) will help.

About your Ph. D. advisor, it is not because he is a PhD advisor that he would be recognized as EB1_EA... A large fraction of the scientists are PhD advisors, and an EB1-EA is supposed to be in the small percentage at the top of their field...
