I applied for PR in the EB1 - OR category in June 2008 (Texas service center). My university sponsored the process. Went through attorney.
* Applied concurrent I-140 and I-485: June 2008
* Fingerprinting: June 2008
* EAD: Aug 2008
* AP: Sep 2008
* Welcome notice: Apr 2009
I did not get any RFE.
1. I have Bachelors and Masters in CS and have been working in research (Life Sciences - Bioinformatics) for 5+ years, and 3 years in hard core CS research.
2. Had 10 letters of reference (5 from people I have worked with, 5 outside).
3. Have published 12 papers, 2 book chapters, 8 posters, 3 invited oral presentations. Refereed journal papers (~4) and had letters from editors. Have > 20 citations in total
4. My wife was in H4 visa when I applied. She started working when we got EAD (I still held to my H1B). We did not travel outside the US during the whole process.
Hope this helps.
