on the contrary, I believe that may be possible because USCIS is supposed to distribute its annual supply of visas in a steady rate so that it does not exhaust all available visa numbers at the begining of the year simply because there is high demand. So, it is quite conceivable that what the IO said was true - but it should open up again in the next quarter. Any takers?
madmonkey, if your claim is true, why did EB2 become unavailable for India 3 month into the year? Obviously they used up ALL the visa numbers for EB2/India. Why would they hold back for EB1 now?

You are right. Thst is the question I posted at trackitt website. I think that IO gave me wrong information and thats waht my lawyer told me also. Again I called up today, another IO told me EB1 india visas are current.
Sometimes we end up talking to some useless IOs. Hope for the best
the IO just didnt realize that only EB1 is current for India. In his mind India and China are all retrogressed. That probably why. I doubt it being used up so fast.
