EB1-EA I-140, I-485 approved (concurrent filing on 1/22/08)

I concurrently filed for I-140 and I-485 (EB1-EA) at TSC and received emails today that card production has been ordered for I-485. However I have not heard anything about my I-140 yet. The LUD on I-140 is 4/24/08, the same date as I-485 emails but, on the case status details page it shows no update for I-140. Can I assume that my I-140 has been approved since the card production has already been ordered? - (see below for post on I-140 approval)

Congrats Chaukka on becoming green.

I wouldn't worry about I-140 not being updated. You'll see couple of more LUDs in coming days (I did after my GC got approved) on your I-485 (generally internal USCIS updates as well as updates about welcome notice/approval notice sent etc.). I am guessing, the I-140 online status will also update as the USCIS go through these cycles. Give it sometime as you just got your card production e-mail today. In any case, as you rightly pointed out, I-485 approval is contingent to I-140 approval-so relax and enjoy your new found freedom.

Got I-140 approval also

I wrote the original post in the morning about receiving I-485 approval notice and this afternoon I also recieved approval for my I-140. This is great. I cannot even describe the feeling. Although I have not posted here much, I still got a lot of help from reading the forums here. So, Thanks to everyone.

Here is my case
I-140, I-485 (concurrent filing, self petition) at TSC in EB1-EA category: RD - 1/12/2008
I-140, I-485 AD: 4/24/08 (Got approved in about 3 months)

I would also be happy to answer any questions.

chaukka,
Congratulations!.
Can you please put your credentials. I guess that you filed it without lawyer (self petition).

Credentials

I did my Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from a top-5 university in US and then did a short 9 month postdoc at another top university. After that I moved to a small biotech as a postdoc on a J-1. My total postdoc experience has been 2.5 years.

My background is
1. 4 first author (JBC, Nature Biotech) and 3 co-author papers with ~45 total citations
2. 2 book chapters
3. served as a reviewer for a single journal and as a chair for an international conference in my field
4. 2 best paper awards in reputed conferences in my field and 2 travel grants/scholarships
5. Good recommendation letters from 2 independent experts and 6 present/former supervisors/collaborators

I actually used a lawyer ($1500 fees) but wrote all the material myself. Few people on the forum here felt that my case was not strong enough for EB1-EA while many other encouraged me to apply. I am glad I did!

Chaukka,
a quick question: where did you file your applications? I mean exact address to which it was sent - USPS or FEDEX address?
Thank you.
