EB1-EA: I-485 adjustment of status or consular processing?

HI,
I am about to submit my I-140 for an EB1-EA. I need to indicate on the form that if I would do adjustment of status or consular processing for I-485.
I would like to get things done ASAP. Right now I am in the US, and my home country is Germany. I am currently on an H1B visa in the USA, and I want to submit I-140 with PP.
What are your experiences with adjustment of status? How long does it take (I believe there is no option for premium processing for I-485)?
Is consular processing really much quicker?
And finally, is it problematic if you say on I-140 that you want CP and then change your mind and ask for adjustment of status?
Thanks!

-------------What is your field of extra ordinary ability?? Did you check the requirement of EB-EA in your field? If you feel that you are eligible for EB-EA then file with all the eligibility documents and keep 2-3 supporting letters with you. For EB-EA they may ask RFE and then supply extra supporting documents.

------------- Adjustment of status is better. you can also file I-485, EAD AP with I-140 if you wish.

-------------this thread is for Adjustment of status read or search the threads

-------------I-485 does not have PP at this time
Is consular processing really much quicker?
----------first I-140 to be approved then file goes to NVC then file goes to US consulate then Interview then Immigrant visa then enter US. at this time I-485 is taking around 6 months and PD for you will be current(EB1)
And finally, is it problematic if you say on I-140 that you want CP and then change your mind and ask for adjustment of status?
----------- after I-140 approval still you can file I-485
Thanks!

thanks ginnu!
What means "EAD AP with I-140" ?

So does this mean form your answer that it does not really matter what I indicate on the I-140, CP or adjustment of status? Once the I-140 would get approved then I can still submit the I-485 either way with no difference?

Should I know simply indicate that I would go for adjustment of status and then decide what to do once the I-140 gets through?

How long do you think does adjustment of status takes for EB1-EA?
Thanks!
