How this guy managed to pass a background check to join the US army escapes me.

Anyway, the solution looks straightforward:

1. Buy a fake GC
2. Enroll in the US army (most of the people on this forum in EB retro are technical - so you should not have an issue getting a good posting)
3. After 2 years of good service disclose your true status to the Army to get expedited sponsorship to Citizenship - No need to mess with GC process at all!

Disclaimer: This is not advice. Dont try this at home folks. These people are professionally trained illegals. :D

Soldier with fake green card may be citizen soon

FORT STEWART, Ga. — An illegal immigrant who risked his life as an American soldier in Iraq may become a U.S. citizen next week.

Pfc. Juan Escalante, who enlisted in the Army by showing a fake green card he bought for $50, could take his citizenship oath in Seattle Wednesday. "I feel great," said Escalante, who grew up largely in Seattle and graduated from Chief Sealth High in 2002. "This is what I've been looking for ever since my parents told me I was illegal."

:D

Army is in deep need of guys.. It seems even if you tell you have a fake GC to the recruiter's ... they would say .. hey you are just fine.. Sign on the doted lines and I will make sure U get citizenship under one year or possibly as soon as U sign up. Wow...

[The President signed an executive order in July 2002 allowing immigrants (? illegals n legals ?) to become citizens as soon as they are sworn in, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services]

Nothing wrong I would say -- If anyone is willing to die for USA ..USA honors him with a quick citizenship.

Nevertheless this is a way to go if one is desperate .. better than slogging ones balls to exploiting desi employer....

if you survive iraq's 2-3 years deployment........you get citizenship.....not a bad deal though since only around 3000 people got killed out of 300k just 1% chance of dying...(maybe 10% chance of serious injury)..

Desperate times require desperate measures I guess :D Frankly , I don't fault this young man. He knows no other country since he was brought here as a child. There are countless in his position (yours truly being one) Kudos to him for finding a way to remedy the situation. As far as my situation, I thank God that I meet up with the right people just before 245i came along ;)

At least he worked in the army risking his life for it. I think it would be OK offering illegal aliens the chance to join the army or getting deported. He did a better job than a number of parasites who find out they are here illegals but continue to argue that this country should just reward them with permanent residency with that silly Dream Act amnesty bill.

While I personally have no problems with anyone who serves in the armed forces and getting legalised, I do have a problem with the statement from the falangist website that posted the article.
Here's the final paragraph statement:

"CFPA: Juan deserves citizenship. He was willing to put his life on the line for our country and obviously loves the United States...his parents should be allowed to stay also, as they brought this fine Christian warrior to the U.S. and evidently raised him to become a good American. A lesson to other immigrants both legal and illegal....learn english, love the U.S. and serve our country and you to can earn the privledge of becoming a citizen."

Apparently if you are anything but a Christian, CFPA might be asking for heads to roll in allowing a possible security risk to sign up for military duty.
I really doubt that this nice response would also be made if that boy had been from the middle east and a muslim.
