EB-1 pending for more than 1 year

I filed my Eb-1 EA petition last year and the PD is 011/23/05. It was initially filed in VSC and later on transferred to NSC in May , 06. Currently NSC is processing May, 2006. Any ideas why my application is taking so long? I have just filed for PP upgrade. Online case status show - My application is pending with NSC
 
since you have upgraded to PP, you will receive a reply within a week, probably RFE. thats the trend going on with NSC for PP cases.
