EB-1 job ad?

Hi,

I am hoping some one here can answer my question. I will be applying for green card in the EB-1 category(outstanding professor).

There is some confusion at the university I work. There is a feeling that the ad for the job search (that I applied to and succeeded in) should have been in the print medium....the point being one should be able to show that I was the best candidate and no us citizen was qualified enough. Is this the correct ?

Thanks

That is not correct for EB-1 category. The published ad is required for petitions requiring labor certification, and EB-1 by definition doesn't require labor certification. Your category does require a sponsor and proof of a permanent job offer, but not labor certification or ads.

That is true. I have done EB1-OR through university and there was no need for job add. As jk mentioned, all you need is a permanent job offer from the university.

It may be the requirement by the univ. (HR policy) but not USCIS.
for allowing me to apply under this category my univ. wanted the same (3 types of ad). the internal requirements are little different and do not get confused that with USCIS requirements.
