EB-1 (EA) Artist Petition

Hi! I have been reading the various threads here in this site especially the one's that discusses the EB1 cases. however, i haven't really read any discussions about any artists who applied this year who has been approved. I am an artist as well and have applied for the EB1 category. I am hoping to hear from fellow artists who have applied. Seems like most people here are scientists, medical doctors and engineers.

Second, I want to hear from anybody re: the current processing time for EB1 cases.

Third, how long does is usually take for somebody to receive a receipt notice? I filed it the traditional way thru my lawyer. He sent it on overnight delivery.

Hoping to hear from people in this site. Thanks so much!!!

Hi JPSU i am a performing artist that went from O-1 visa to EB1EA, I got approved March of this year!

thanks for responding to my post. this is actually my second attempt to get my gc. i also have an o-1 before applying for the first time in 2005. it was moved from one svc ctr to another and took 1.5 years before NSC denied my case (but with an RFE in the process). Lawyers who I consulted (over 10 of then) where quite unanimous in saying that my previous lawyer did a poor job in presenting my case.

Now I am with another lawyer, who is much more experienced and thorough. Hopefully the processing will be much much faster this time around.

may i ask what your credentials are in brief?
did you go thru a lawyer?
and did you e-file it or just did it the normal way?

as for me, i am a short filmmaker and multimedia artist. Won over 20 international awards for my works. Appeared in over 20 news publications here in north america and in asia. featured on tv as well. panel judge for six int'l award giving bodies. invited to be a member for three prof organizations. been selected to festivals as well, here and abroad. worked with distinguished institutions.

i am really hoping to get a favorable feedback from TSC very soon.

hey lystrom, have you heard anything from USCIS re: your application?
 
nothing for now

Hey, I am just waiting as lot's of others like me. No LUDs no apdates, my attorney is telling me to be patient, so will see another mounth or so. How about you?

been checking for for updates and yes, there hasn't been any updates either. it's weird coz a friend of mine got hers in just two months.

she's a writer but she's no pulitzer or nobel prize winner either.

so i am wondering why there's an inconsistency with the processing time.

and she applied a month later than i did. she applied in nov. and already got her approval. it sort of bothered me.
