Received FP notice in the mail. Notice date was 3/23/05. Appointment was for 5/11/05

3/30/05
Read some comments in the forum and got courage to try out for early FP.

3/31/05
9:00AM - Drove to the location to see the status. There were lot of people so I left.
3:00PM - Went inside along with my wife. There were people already waiting for the FP to be done. The gentlemen said that it won't be possible today (but, he didnot say don't come until the appointment date), just come back later. When I asked him when would be a better time........he suggested either early in the morning or at 2PM anyday.

4/1/04
8:00AM - we were there by 8:00AM. They let only the people with appointment first. Then after a while (5 minutes) let us in. Inside they had us fill out a form first and then let us into a different room for FP (all the process took about 45 minutes).

Here are the important points to remember if you going for early FP:

1) Donot mention the appointment date/time. They will figure it out themselves. This is to avoid rejecting you right away at the door. Also not everybody will let you in for early FP. There are specific people that were very freindly. This brings me to next point.

2) At the entrance, you will see 2 men (one at the door and one at the podium). These are the only two people who will decide if you can get the early FP done or not. One guy is white (with blonde hair) and the other is black. Try to speak to the black guy as much as possible (be very polite and smile - makes a big difference.....we are at their mecry for early FP). When I first went into the office on the 31rst, the white guy was the one at the podium. He saw the date on my receipt and pointed it out and just said come back on that day. I told him that I talked ( ;) ;) ) to the USCIS office and they told me come here and talk to you about rescheduling. So he showed the document to the black guy and asked him if they can let us in. He looked over in the different room and saw lot of people already waiting for the FP to be done (I went at 3:00pm........ office closes at 4:00pm.......and there were already people waiting).
Note: Dress up GOOD when you go to this. So that you will recognized easily the next day.

3) Take the PHOTO ID (driver's license or EAD) that has the name exactly as in the receipt. Remember your Social security number if you have one.

4) They took 10 finger prints and a picture. My wife was mad at me because I told her there was not going to be any pictures taken at this place. And also because I didn't let her have more time for make up (picture time) at home .......................NO COMMENTS.

SO try and try............................It took me couple of tries..............

It all depends

Guys and gals,

From personal experience I am of the opinion that getting an early FP is a totally hit and miss thing at the Atlanta Buford Hwy office. The odds are much better if they are not busy. I went there in early Jan on a Saturday but there were a lot of people there. I was turned away. My friends wife met with the same fate. My wife is scheduled for her 2nd FP and she is going to try going early. Lets see if its a hit or a miss this time around.

What is best time to try for Early FP in Atlanat Office even on Saturday. Even body please share your experince

Kalse_2000;

It's very hard to say. After reading the messeges in this forum and from my experience, it is unpredictable.............

If you don't have a choice other than saturday, may be try early in the morning or at around 2:00P.M.

I think Saras_76 and Kabbu got the FP done on Saturday.

Its a gamble for sure. My wife and I went there yesterday, along with our newborn, and the line was snaking out to almost being on Buford hwy, and cars were double parked all over the lot. My wife stepped out and talked to a fellow standing in the the line, and he said the officials were still calling in appointments from 1-2 hours ago. We might try again, may be on a Saturday when I don't have to skip from work, but its a hassle for us with the little one to do this over and over again.

Early FP in Atlanta

It is totally hit or miss

Guys and Gals,

My wife got her early FP done last Saturday. She went there at about 3 PM and they were not busy at all. There wasn't even a guard outside.

The key is to go there when they are not busy. From what I have read it seems as if the least busy times are late afternoon Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat.

I think its totally hit or miss. Try your luck one late afternoon and hopefully they will take you in.

Do we know that early FP will incur early approval of I 485? Do they put our cases based on the scheduled FP timeframed and then take the case when they think that FP should be ready by their schedule and then process from there?
Just wondering. Maybe nobody is sure.
Thanks.

No way to tell

ATL10Again,

I have always wondered the same thing. I don't think there is any way to tell. The way I look at it is that getting it done early atleast gives one a chance at early approval as opposed to getting it done on the scheduled date that might be a month away.
