Early fingerprinting if 140 is still pending?

Is it advantageous to do early fingerprinting if 140 is still pending at VSC? Example if RD for 140 is Nov 2003 and one received FP notice for late Oct 2004 in San Jose, does it help at all by going to do FP sooner than the FP date?
