I got fingerprint schedule in mid of August in Nashville, TN.
My issue is I am going to move to CA in end of July.
So below is what I did.
1. This morning (7/6) I went to Nashville, they do NOT accept me. They ask me come back later on the appoitment date. No chance to argu. I drove 400 miles and :(

2. Called USCIS and talked to two different persons. I was told once USCIS made appointment for you in particular ASC such as Nashville. You can only go to Nashville no matter early, on time or late. For early one, each ASC makes their own decision to accept or not. So even I knew people got early fingerprint in Atlanta and Louisville, I can NOT go.

3. If I move to CA before my appointment date, I can NOT even fly back to Nashville because you should do fingerprint in your current resident state. So I have to reschedule it to San Jose. But to reschedule needs written request and takes at least one month.

So looks to me, the only good solution is postponing my moving.

Any comments?

I personally know some people who got FP scheduled in one state and did it in another state where they were living presently. I would suggest you go to your local ACS and try early FP.
Even if you move to CA, you can go there at your scheduled date or ealier and explain that you had to move, they should accept the FP.
