I just got my EAD today. I have a SSN, I got it when
I was an F1 student. Do I need to go to SSA to let them
know or can I just work? I'll go visit them anyways
but what's your advice? Thanks in advance.

Dont think your SS number will chance regardless you have change of status! Once your GC approved, your SSN card will have that
"INS Authourization only " will be removed and replaced with new card just like those citizen

Did you have any "restrictions" on your old SSN? Did your name change? If your name changed, you can go to the SSA office and they will update the info on it and send you a new one. They have the form and instructions on their site. Since it is related to immigration, they will need more time to verify your info and any restrictions with the DHS. I applied for a change in my name and they took away my old card and gave me a letter saying it will take up to four weeks for them to verify my info.
I hope this helps... Good luck!
