EAD with LC transfer(match) - question

I got a LC match and am processing my gc with my friend as future emloyer. I filed my I-140 with RD dec 24 -02.

I filed my EAD/485 with RD - march 31-03.

Is it required that I get my I-140 approved to claim the EAD after 90 days. OR can I go to INS office and claim for EAD after 90 days.

Pl. help.

Please help me too.......
My employer applied for my I-140/485 using a 'substitute' LC. Can anybody tell me what will be the priority date for 485? will it be the notice/approval date of that 'substitute LC' or only the receipt date of my I-485? My 140 is still pending. (Concurrent filing)
