EAD - When can I apply

I am awaiting my I-140 but wanted to know if I can apply for my EAD as soon as I apply for my I-485 or do I have to wait until my priority date comes up on the INS visa bulletin?

U can't apply for I-485 until yur PD is current. EAD is the same
