140 AD - 11/17/03 (Approval notice says PD 11/25/02)
765 AD - 11/21/03 (1st EAD and working on EAD now)

AP - never applied
FP - never got the notice so far

I need to apply for my EAD renewal.
I saw threads with merits/demerits about paper EAD and online EAD renewals.
I want to do what suits me most.

paper EAD:
I dont have to go to local office!
Possiblity of RFE?

iEAD:
I need to go to local office!
No possibility of RFE?
May be they will take my FP at that time?
Giving FP helps my 485 time?

PD: 11/25/02 (ND:7/22/03)
Will this PD have any effect on my 485 time?

Thanks for your time and inputs

pEAD vs eEAD - with eEAD you get receipt immtly- helps you apply for iEAD(Interim EAD), if necessary- but you have to go to local office for biometrics. With pEAD- you don't have to go to local office. So if local office is close by or open on saturdays and you can get quick appointment- iEAD is OK.
Either choice has no impact on RFE or FP etc.

mvk2002,
not that it is any of my business and I will understand if you do not repond, but why did you not aply AP ? Since you are working on EAD, your non-immigrant visa is not longer valid. If tomorrow there is a need for you to leave the country for whatever reason, you will have no means of return. Don't you think spending a few bucks on AP will give you this security ?

As I said, its not my business, but I feel this is a typical carelessness/thriftiness..call you what you may, that can cause lots of heart burn later on.

Thank you all for the responses.

Does my PD has any good effect on my case?

sertra2002: We visited India just before I started using EAD last Nov. May be we will apply for AP along with EAD.

Another friend of mine who lives in NH, just went to the local office and got AP for the family without ever applying to VSC. And there was no emergency and he did not say its an emergency. He did that twice.

Can I do it in MA?

Thanks

It is good that you are asking this now, when there is no urgency. Your friends case does not seem to be the norm, and they do not issue AP's on the fly. I am not familiar with MA office, so cannot comment.

My advice to you and all fellow 485 applicants would be to always, always have the AP in hand. The anxiety of not having AP when we need it is just not worth the money we save by not applying. Ofcourse I always wish noone should have such an emergency, but does not hurt to be prepared.

It is always good and be safe to apply for AP and have it in your hand.

It is risky and you never know when the use arises. God willing you never will use it possibly. But be safe.

EAD at VSC

Hi, Congrtulaions.....

On June 2004 , after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.
I want to know how long they will issue EAD?

EAD - ND Jan 2004, RFE Reply May 2004, AD- June 2004
What will be Next?

Thanks.
