EAD vs H1 on 485 Question - Please Respond

Hi All,
  I did receive my EAD sometime in Feb 2001. My H-1 is valid till 11/01. After that If I have to switch to EAD how should I do that? Should INS be informed that I am working on EAD with my present employer? Can I switch to EAD right now?
  Does it matter if my wife comes back on AP or H-4 when she enters the country?

If your wife has traveled outside the country on H4, then she can enter on H4. If she has used EAD to work then she has to use AP(that should had been applied/approved/received b4 her travel outside the country). For you to use EAD, I believe there is a Form in the INS web site that may be used to notify(not sure it\'s number, better check with an attorney).
