EAD vs H1 6yr+ Extension- Help Needed - URGENT

Hello Guru's,

Need your help. A friend of mine is on her last yr of H1 visa. She also has her approved 140 and EAD. Her emp (desi comp) wants her to extend the H1 visa.
Here's the complicated part.

Her husband whose H1 got over (2007) didn't extend his visa coz he got the EAD from his wife. He joined a new company on the basis of their EAD.

My questions:
A. If she extends her H1 can she also extend her EAD?
B. What happens to her husband if she gets her H1 extended?
C. Does extending H1 make any sense? After all you gotta spend 2K for H1extension and I guess you'll have to do that every year and then spend again for EAD.

A. If she extends her H1 can she also extend her EAD?

Sure.

B. What happens to her husband if she gets her H1 extended?

Nothing.

C. Does extending H1 make any sense? After all you gotta spend 2K for H1extension and I guess you'll have to do that every year and then spend again for EAD.

It doesn't make any sense from the employer's point of view.

Here's a money saving tip: if your friend is getting her H1 extended, ask her not to get her EAD extended. Spend money only on one (of course, EAD extension is much cheaper).
Her husband can extend his EAD, even if she allows hers to lapse. They're independent of each other.
