EAD validity period

Folks,
I applied for renewal of EAD 4 months in advance as per the policy of the CIS.:(
I received an EAD renewal for 2 years. But it doesn't start form the expiry date of the initial. I lost 4 months of period.
My initial EAD : 03/04/08-03/04/09
Renewal :11/04/08-11/04/10.

I also requested them in my covering letter to give the validity period from the expiry date of the initial. But unfortunately it was ignored. How can get back those 4 months that I lost ? Anyone has any idea ?

There is no rule saying they must make the next EAD start from the end of the existing one, so they do whatever they want and you can't do anything about it. My second EAD renewal started from the approval date, so I lost a couple of months. But my third one started from the end of the second one, even though it was approved about 3 months before the second one expired.

The fact that they were giving you 2 years may have had something to do with it. They didn't want to be too generous by giving you 2 years on top of the time from now until next march.
