I am on an H1B visa but have an EAD (which I haven't used yet). I intend to use my EAD.

I intend to keep my current job (same title) as it is but want to work for a company on a part-time basis to do some math tutoring. Can I use my EAD to work on a part-time basis to do math tutoring? Is that possible? (I am aware that once I use my EAD, I will no longer be on an H1B visa).

Thanks,

Doing the same thing myself. lawyers said OK but were not too happy as they represent my employer...
No they don't - they represent you in matters relating to I-485, EAD, AP etc., even though your employer pays them. This is why most companies use external and not in-house lawyers for this type of work since it avoids a potential conflict of interest.
