EAD to H1B

Hi,

I want to know If I can switch back to H1B from EAD.

I applied for EAD renewal last week and My current EAD expiring next month.
Can switch back to H1B until my EAD renewal is approved. As Its taking atleast 2-3 months to get EAD approval. I will be out of work status for atleast 2 months. My H1-B six years expired

Is it possible?

My understanding is "No" if you've been using EAD for work and not renewing/using H1 anymore...which is why I hear you need to apply for EAD renewal well in advance of it expiring. I am guilty of applying too late for myself & my wife...and the attorney indicated my wife may have an interruption in work for a couple of months. Fortunately my company has also been extending my H1 which I am using to work currently.
