EAD to H1b possible?

Hello,
I am in company X with h1b. If I join company Y
on EAD and they also file an H1b (h1-h1 xfr, or new h1), and later on after 2/3 months can I switch back to company Y's h1b.
Also will it anyway affect GC process (which was filed by company X)

Your advice/help on this will be greatly appreciated.
 
It is a risky path

and there are too many caveats. I suggest you consult a lawyer if you decide to go this route.

Personally I would require a very strong reason to do h1 extension and EAD together, especially when you are transferring to another employer.

In my opinion, using EAD to transfer to another employer is the best way to preserve your GC process.

If you have a strong urge to do H1-h1 transfer too, I suggest that you first file h1 transfer , join new employer and then show EAD so that when the h1 approval comes you can tout your h1 status without prejudice to EAD.

Reading the sentence above, I dont see this as a win-win situation at all.
