EAD time period

Hey Guys ,

I have filled for EAD and my H1 is expiring in October.I was confused if should wait for EAD or renew the H1 ?? Do you guys think we can get the EAD in 2-3 Months?? Gurus Please Advice!!1

Don\'t take chances. Get your H1 extension. I also did that.

Charliee is right. The Stakes are high here, why do u want to take chances when absolutely not needed.
Applying H1 extension doesn\'t keep u away from getting EAD, but if something goes wrong, and if you don\'t get EAD in time, then u have to sit at home and wait for EAD. Remember, you can\'t get paychecks if you don\'t have any one of them.

what others say is true..
FYI :

you can work upto 8mnths(240 days) after your expiration date
if your applied H1 extn is still pending...
so if you apply for H1 extn anytime before oct then you
are ok until april \'02 or so...
