EAD start date HEEEEELP PLEASE!

I have filed for my EAD last December, and my school official adviced me to ask for a start date as late as possible. So I asked for it to start from March 28 2005. My application hasn't been processed yet, but meanwhile the school I graduated form offered me a job where I would have to start ASAP. Can I move the start date of the EAD to an earlier one after I have filed? How?

No way to change it. Once they approve it they send your application in to get cards made. The only thing you have control over is if they do not approve your case within 90 days of your receipt date you can get an interim card from your local office.
There have been many people here who for their second EAD requested concurrent dates from the first EAD and the Center chopped off as much as 6 months off the next card.

Thank you for your help. I suspected this, I should have thought about it before I applied... :( Well, I guess I'll just have to wait it out.
