EAD/Social Security Card question

Guys,

I recently applied for my wife's Social Security Card based on the fact that she has a valid "EAD" (I am in OHIO). My question is - will the card say, "Not valid for Work without INS Authorization" or not? I had got the card while I was on F1 visa and mine does say so.

What is your experience?

Thanks!
SK...

My case was almost the same as yours, I got here on a J-2 visa, got a SSN and my card does have the comment. Now, after H1-B, and almost 18 months after I-485 was filed, it's the same and I am not sure it is going to change.
At the end of the day, I am not sure the difference (with / without) is significant. It's a valid SSN.

ANy thoughts, anybody?

The SSN card (From Illinois) that i got for my Wife (based on EAD) says
"valid to Work with INS Authorization" .

normally the card with "valid to Work with INS Authorization".

when get the I-485 approval, you also need to go to SSA
and applying to remove the above work condition.

After you get your GC approved. you can go to Social security office and have them issue new SSN CARD. The number wont change but the message on new SSN will go.

yes we can remove it

Yes we did that - both myself and wife after our 485 approval by visiting the local SSA office in Person. It is just few minutes job and u will get the new card in USPS Mail.
