EAD should I??? Oct 1/01 RD

My RD is OCT 1/01 and am unlucky unlike those year 2000 filers who got their I-485 approved within 2 yrs while I have been waiting since 1997.

My EAD is expiring Dec 4/02. Should I send in for renewal? Can I do it on my own or Pay extra $300 to Lawyer for his/her signature?

Guys N Gals what do you think? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
 
my dates are same as yours. I did apply for my renewal last week. Just didn't want to take chances and i did use my lawyer.
 
Forms are very easy

If you are in the Boston Metro area, I would suggest you go and get it done through the INS in Boston. If you are in the Boston area then you can fill the forms yourself and go to INS Boston. Thatway you will know right then if at all something is wrong. If you have to send it to VSC then I don't know what is the best option. The forms are very very easy (especially if you have copies of your original filings) and you don't need a lawyer to fill them out. Just make sure you have copies of the right documents when you file (you can get the list on the INS website).

Can I walk into INS Newark, NJ office to renew my EAD?? Has anyone done that? Please post. If I were to mail to Vermont, it will take a lot of time. Good Luck to all Green Card aspirants. May all of us get approval soon.
 
paraj - I wanted to do the same but apparently you cant do it in Newark ....

You will have to renew your EAD application with VSC !!

my RD is same as yours... EAD expires on Nov 29th 2002.

I applied on monday for my extension -- mailed things to VSC

do it ur self.. its easy and it costs only 1/2 hr and $120.60 ( stamp)-- mailed regular..

Hope it reaches them
