I found out from the BCIS web site that a RFE has been generated on 20th Sep for my wife's EAD application. Guess it must be a marriage certificate.

If it is indeep the marriage cert., then are we supposed to send only the marrriage certificate xerox or is it supposed to be notarized ?

We went on 17th Sep and got her iEAD from local service center. Did this trigger off the RFE ?

Any input/experiences will be appreciated.

sneazing and farting can trigger RFE these days thats why everyone is getting it now....

Be ready with EVL, W2, marraiage cert, paystubs.

Marriage Cert RFE for AP

I was in a similar situation when my spouse got an RFE for AP asking for proof of relationship.

A notary told me that marriage certificates cannot be notarized in California. I got a "marriage certificate" from the consulate but another member on this board indicated that it was rejected in his case.

So I got a "True Copy" extract from the issuing authority (in India) and sent it to INS. They returned it after examining it. Soon after the AP was approved.

PS: IMO sending the original marriage certificate is not advisable.
 
I have received RFE for my wife's EAD recently b4 a week. They asked for marriage certificate and my 485 approval notice since I am the primary applicant. We have sent just the normal copies and online status is now changed to ..


On September 22, 2003, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 140 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.
 
RFE on EAD

I recently got an RFE on my EAD. they wanted the marriage certificate. Wonder why, since we had already sent it to them with our application.

Waiting for my AP>> Do you think I'll get the same RFE on AP as well???

I also got an RFE on the AP application. I don't know if for me or my wife (I checked online and don't know which one is whom). The other one is approved.
We also got our EAD cards last month, without any RFE.

My marriage certificate was in english. INS asked me to get one in hindi. What a bull crap. These guys at INS seems to eat human waste.
 
I would get one in every language...it is exciting to see in how many language one feels screwed up....

tell BCIS I cant digest one ...you want to put salt on my wounds...

RFE on AP

How much time does it take for BCIS to approve application once you send response to RFE?
