Hi,

My Employment based I-485 application was transferred from VSC to the Boston District Office. When I spoke with a VSC officer, he told me that since my I-485 is at Boston, I shud file my EAD renewal with them (and not at VSC). So, I took an Infopass appt and went to BOSTON. They flatly refused to accept my application and said that I shud send it to Chicago.. I told the officer about my talk with the VSC officer but she kept insisting that they dont accept any EAD applications anymore.. So I sent it to Chicago.. And guess what..

The application was returned today saying that its "Out of Jurisdiction" and that I shud file at the appropriate office. They sent me the following link to help me choose the appropriate office.. (what a joke!)

This is completely insane.. Did anybody have any similar experience.. What should I do.. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance..

------------ Boston officer gave you wrong advice, you should have shown them file Trasfer letter from VSC they should have accepted your EAD application if the officer was not accepting you should have asked for supervisor OR should have filed with VSC then VSC would have trasfred it to Boston

------------- about 2 months back a person filed EAD with VSC and after 3-4 days he got notice that his I-485 file is trasfred to Newark NJ local office and his EAD application was also sent to NJ by VSC and he got notice from VSC that his EAD application is also trasfred to NJ, he got EAD approved from NJ local office
Thanks in advance..

Thanks

Ginnu,

Thanks for your reply.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that when VSC transferred my case to Boston, they didnt send me nor my lawyer the Notice of Transfer.. I spoke and asked the VSC officer multiple times that they send me one.. But he said that the officer who initially transferred it shud have done it then and there is nothing that he could do. The Boston Office has also confirmed that my case is here..

Do you know of any USCIS or other related website where it clearly states that if I-485 if pending at local office then EAD/AP renewal shud be filed at local office?

Maybe I can show that to the dimwits in Boston..
