EAD renewal !

Guys!

I am looking for directions for renewing EAD of my wife. All along I was getting it done by attorney, this time I am trying to save some money. Here is what I am thinking.

1. Fill the form and sign it.
- Put (C)(9) in section 16
2. Attach copy of I-94 in passport and the one with H4 extension (which also expired by may this year)
3. Attach her I-485 receipt copy (derivative) and mine (Primary)
4. Write a check to INS for $120.00 (anything to write on check here ?) and attach it.
5. Attach copy of current EAD.
6. Attach 2 green card style pictures.
7. Mail it to INS Service Center, P.O.Box No.851041, Mesquite, TX-75185-1041.


Please correct me if there is something I am missing.

I think you got it all.

Hi, make sure you read the instructions section of the 797 form which automatically downloads with application.

Also make out two separate envelopes clearly marked with type of application, name and A# of the applicant, and send off return receipt.

They want the check pinned to the upper left hand corner of the application ( MONEY TALKS ) AND THE TWO PHOTOS IN A SEPARATE COVER.

I'm going to do the same, and ...

Add a copy of my driver's licence -- This's not mentioned in the instruction, but better do it. Because my friend told me he got RFE for it when applying EAD.

We applied our EADs (self and my wife) by ourself, it's easy and money saving.

1st EAD will expire on 10/4/2003. -- I know I should renew it 90 days before expiration, hopefuly it's pretty fast to get it approved recently. My wife's got approved in less than 2 months.

They sometimes send RFE for I140 approval copy. It is better to attach one as well to save some hassel.

I am sending only one application so I can put everything in one Fedex envelope. But I did not follow you when you said return receipt. Can you explain it,

Also please add the application type ie. i-765 (EAD) i-131 (AP) in the department field on the shipping label.

I applied for my EAD renewal online. It is very easy and took less than 10 minutes.
I called the 800 number and got an appointment (for fingerprint and photograph) for the same week.

better attach your I-140 and

the marriage certificate. They are required for dependent's AP. I can see the trend to require these for dependent's EAD.
