I have applied for EAD renewal 80 days before the expiration. It is my understand that you can only obtain interim EAD after your EAD is pending for more than 90 days.

I like to know what should I do for the Gap of 10 days without getting in any trouble.

Can I still be on payroll and take vacations ? like paid vacation. I have earned vacation that I haven't taken.

Can I go to work and not get paid ? like voluntary work.

what are the options ? what can you do and what you can't ? Please tell me the various options.
 
What if one is also on H1 with EAD expiring.

I've very much similar situation. I did used EAD for some extra hours as free lance developer last year and also having valid H1 based permanent employment.

What I should do for 10 days I may be without EAD?

Based on my H1 status, can I continue my permanent job?

IF u use use your EAD then ur H1 is void. Even if it is used for part time job. You have to be on EAD evrywhere. If u want to be back on H1 then u hv to apply for new H1 .
