EAD renewal

Time is coming. :mad:
How do you think when I have to file EAD renewal.
My current EAD will expired on April 4, 2003 :confused:
 
Tasse, It's too early to renew.

Since EAD expires only in Apr 2003, to renew you can wait till Jan 2003.
Hopefully you'll get approved by then, since being 02-067 :)
 
working on EAD

H1 was expired in Sep, so I'm working on EAD, which will be expired in the end of March, 2003.
Therefore, my question is how late I can wait for the renewal?

Mine is wac-02-064
 
Yih, I think we have apply for renewal EAD four months before expiration date. Perhaps I will apply at the beginning of December, because then I can request an Interim EAD from the local INS office in San Jose in the middle of March.

But I don't understand why INS says: "Renewal EAD: You should apply for a renewal EAD six months before your original EAD expires" ( http://www.ins.gov/graphics/howdoi/ead.htm )

Any idea?
 
Tasse, I'll talk to my attorney tomorrow.

It is advisable to apply for your extension more than 90 days before your current EAD card expires because if an EAD extension is not approved within 90 days, it is automatically extended for 240 days, or until a decision is made, whichever comes first.

If it is not extended within 90 days, you can also go to the nearest INS district office and obtain your extension right away.

Procedure for filing the extension of EAD is same as new EAD, except that you should provide the copy of old EAD while renewing it.
