EAD Renewal

Hello guys..
can you please tell me how long it is taking to renew EADs at VSC?
mine is expiring in April mid-week and so should I apply for renewal now?
Also, can I go to the local INS center to get it renewed?
Till now I worked on my H1B but I may need to work on EAD from this month on..
can I work on EAD while the present EAD expired and the renewal is still pending?

Apply at least 4 months in advance. It takes 8-10 weeks for approval and 3-5 weeks to get the card. My EAD was approved mid-December but I still havn\'t received my card. I would suggest that you apply immediately to avoid any inconvenience.

if so, should I go now or wait until a few days beofre its expiry and then apply?
