My EAD expired in Feb 03. I am wondering if I should apply for renewal by mail now or go to Sacramento INS office and apply in person ?

Thanks,
Who

I asked my lawyer to file for EAD renewal (by mail) and he suggests I go to the local INS office in Jan and apply in person. Any comments ?

Thanks.

Who,
I never heard of this kind of thing... Let me explain you what i know..
You apply thru mail filling I-765 form and you will receive a receipt notice from INS. If 90 days have passed and still you did not receive your approval, then walk in to nearest INS office with receipt and they will issue you Interim EAD(I think valid for 3 months... someone correct me if i am wrong).

Why are you going to wait till January? Go now and check his words.

p.s. may be I should be a lawyer? :)

Thanks for your comments folks. After reading your suggestions, I did a little search on the ins website and found this :

EAD Extension:
Submit in person the completed Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and fee to the Sacramento Sub Office. You may submit this application up to 30 days before the expiration of the EAD.
