EAD renewal receipt number not found

Hi,

I e-filed my renewal application on 4/2/06 for EAD. I am in Texas service center but got a case number starting with 'MSC'....confusing why I did not get a 'SRC'. Anyone know if something has changed recently process-wise? or did I make an incorrect selection somewhere on the form that has caused this and now I need to fix something?

I read on the uscis site that starting 4/1/06, all EAD forms need to go to a central location in Missouri and that where I mailed the supporting documentation.

The other concern I have is when I tried to add the new EAD receipt number to my online portfolio at USCIS site, it said receipt number not found. Anyone experienced this recently?

can you send the link. I looked on the USCIS site under EAD instructions and I couldn't find any mention of Missouri starting 4/1/06
 
Is your GC through employment or marriage?

Because the instructions on the pdf states that if your I-485 through employment is pending then you are required to file your I-765 with
the service center where your case is pending.

All other I-765 applicants
Until further notice, should file according to the instructions on the form
including the Direct Mail Instructions for the Person filing I-765.
 
the ead application is for my spouse and i am the primary applicant for 485...am already approved. my 485 was employment based.

when i filed 765 online...i answered the questions as asked...i selected 'dallas service center' indicating where my 485 is pending. it automatically gave me a 'msc' receipt. i dont know if thats correct or not and thats why i am concerned. last year my ead (also filed online) had a 'src' receipt number.

any ideas anyone?

I just efiled my EAD Renewal. My receipt number begins with LIN. My 485 is pending at NSC.

Were you able to check at the National Service CEnter why your receipt number begins with different letters?
 
when i called the 800 number, they were not able to find the application by the receipt number. same reason why i could not add it to my portfolio online. they transfered me to some other person who has 'more access' and they were able to locate my case. they said it was fine where its (Natl benefits center) at but where not too sure abt it...leading me to doubt the whole situation even more.

the reason why other could not locate it or i could not find it online is bcoz this case has not been 'entered' into the system by a person yet...talk abt disparate systems...u file online but they cannot merge their own data and still need a human to enter it...obviously I am in IT but i am shocked that this is the best us govt can do/afford.

the rep who found my case also told me that this happens sometimes when noone enters the case in the system but it processes just fine. she said it may take upto 60 days for approval given current timelines.

what i am confused about now is which case status timline sould i be looking at? tsc ead is taking abt 30 days and natl benefits is about 60 days...i guess i will go by her word and stick to 60 days.

btw, we scheduled the FP appt and finished it last week already. i have been in gc process for a long time...but i still have to vent...how can a renewal be so complicated...logical answer is bcoz the dont have all the info at their fingertips to merit a 'renewal' case meaning all the background checks have been completed. so lets start from scratch every time...why call it a renewl then? also, how do they hope to ever use this system for any kind of people tracking....its so antiquated...

I am with NSC and LIN is the starting letters for Nebraska.
I called for FP and I was able to get an appt for 4/11/06. I efiled my EAD renewal on 4/9/96. My case is not in the system yet but I think it takes
a day or two for the case to show up in the system.

I will call the Service Center tomorrow if I don't see it in the system.

Let us know when your EAD gets approved.
 
I was able to register the case online today and the receipt number can be resolved. it says the standard language that its taking between 30-90 days to process this application.
 
I have had a smiliar issue myself, I am not exaclty in the process of getting a Green Card still a long way to get to that stage. I filed for an EAD since I am on my F1 and would be soon joining a firm. I have had the notice of action for about 2 weeks now, and the online system is still not able to show my status.

I am just crossing my fingers and hoping that they send me the EAD card as promised by her (the lady at the USCIS) on time, which was two weeks when I last called.

Anyone who has been in a similar situation but did get the card on time or is it something to be worried about.
