EAD renewal question

Folks,

When EAD renewal is filed, does INS give you
the EAD card for a year from the date your current
EAD is expiring or from the date when they happen to
approve the new EAD.

1 year from the time they approve it - so it does not extend your current authorization by a whole year.

Our's was one year from previous EAD expiration

I just got my 2nd EAD card in the mail and it was marked valid from 2/28/04 to 2/28/05. My first EAD expires on 2/28/04. Although I've seen for some people it was valid from the day the application was approved.

Usually the current trend is from date of approval. But with INS rules are meant to be broken so it is your luck!
