Hello einuj somar
If you were working on EAD and if your EAD expired, then The worst case happen to you would be " possible denial of I-485 since you are out of status for a while". You are not supposed to work on expired EAD. You are supposed to renew your EAD 3 months before expiration.

If you didnt apply for EAD renewal, The only possible solution is get a unpaid vacation from your employer and dont work till you get your another EAD.

Hope this helps

thanks sen485 !

would you happen to know an actual case of what you just told me about the worst consequence that might happen to my I-485 (getting denied) ?

its possible

It could be. I remember, one guy posted the similar problem some time ago. I dont know how to search this forum to find that thread. He had an RFE to show the proof of the valid status after his EAD expiration date. He was asking help in this forum. somebody suggested him to get a letter from employer letter stating that, he was an unpaid vacation and he was advised to renew his EAD.

Hope I have answered your question.

thank you guys !

i'll talk to my employer about this.

you're very right kava_dog, it will be foolish to take that chance !

if my employer said that it's ok for me to work, what kind of assurance should i ask from them ?

How about this scenario if a person have valid h1 and he is working on h1 for his primery job I mean IT job and he also have EAD from future employer (I 485 apply through future employer)
now this guy is doing another job part time on that ead
now what happen if his ead expired and he will continue to work part time on that expired ead(it is not a high pay parttime job)
Is it matter if he continue working on that expired ead ?
or he should be stop working on that ead?
please reply

thanx

OK

hello BostonGC2002,
I guess, you are OK. Ideally, Your future employer ( part time )should fire you since your validity of work permit is expired. If BCIS does not aware of your part time job.. you are OK. Better talk to your future employer not to give W2 form.

This is just my opinion. Please consult your lawyer for better idea.
