EAD renewal for RD Dec 2001?

Hello,

My EAD will expire on Aug 23, 2003.

I never expected to have to renew it, as I thought I would have my GC approved by then.:eek:

Do I need to apply for a renewal even though I am not actually using it? I am still on my H1 B, which will expire in May 2004.

My lawyer said I dont need to, but I forgot to remind him that I went to India on Advance Parole in Jan 2003. Does using AP automatically translate to using EAD?

Why did you use AP if you had a valid H-1?
Did you not have the stamp on your Pass Port?
Any way if I were you I would certainly renew the EAD as you can never tell you might have to quit your current job.EAD is a good back up.
 
Renew EAD

It is worth spending $120 on an EAD. You never know what will happen. If you have used your Advance Parole you are not on H1 anymore. That says you should have used your EAD for job. Having said that, if that is not the case, it is better to apply for renewal. Even if they come up with questions you can always say that you had a valid EAD all the time.

Today I went ahead and applied for EAD renewals for myself and my wife just in case.
