EAD Renewal filing method efile vs regular

Hello,

I am thinking about filing EAD renewal myself. I have 5 months approx before expiration of the current one.

Do you guys recommed e- file or regular postal mail ? Are there any glitches ?

These days they r issuing renewal EADs in a month or so. So, I'd suggest u wait until u have 3 more months of it. Or you will lose some time on the first EAD cuz the starting date on the 2nd one might be 10/03. I think paper filing is easier than online. I believe if u file online, u should goto the ASC, do finger prints and still send some paper work to TSC. So why not send everything at once and wait. Its upto u. I just mailed my spouse's renewal EAD today.

I agree with Mad Par a 100%. I have been doing a lot of thinking on this issue recently. Sears does a good job with INS photos. Like someone pointed out, rather than having everything arrive in one package, as in paper filing, online filing depends on 4 connections being made, vis a vis the online application, the monetary payments, the digital photo and fingerprint and the mail in support documents.

GUYS IS THERE A NEW FP FORM FOR PAPER BASED FILING? IN 2001 THEY HAD A BLUE FP CARD WHICH WAS NOT NEEDED IN 2002??? ALSO AFTER THE ANTHRAX SCARE, INS QUIT ACCEPTING US MAIL. DO THEY NOW TAKE US MAIL RETURN RECEIPT???

What "mail in support documents" need to be sent for on-line EAD renewal ?
 
sorry for a late response. Yes! they do give return receipts. My lawyer usually gets on whenever they send something to INS. Its the only proof they have received our documents other than deposited checks.

Hope that helps. I suggest do certified mail with return receipt. That's what my lawyer does.

I donno what documents need to be sent. But I'd guess

1) 485 receipt
2) previous EAd copy
