Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) (first time & renewals)
If you are a first time applicant, you must file INS Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, by mail to U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, 8101 North Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75247. You must have an INS Form I-485, Adjustment of Status, filed with this office. Send a copy of the receipt for INS Form I-485 with the INS Form I-765. You will be scheduled to receive your card within 90 days. If for some reason you have not received an appointment notice after 90 days, you can mail an inquiry or come in person to check the status of the application. If you are renewing your EAD card, the above still applies.

Does this mean that for EAD renewals, we cannot walk in to the dallas district office and get an interim EAD even after 90 days? Has anyone here got an interim EAD from Dallas DO? Kindly post details and thanks for the help in advance.

Interim EAD

Thanks nimrod. Its very vague, I mean the Dallas DO webpages. San Diego DO's webpage clearly says that after 90 days you can walk in and get an interim EAD card, but Dallas DO just says you can check the status of the earlier application. Hopefully someone who has got an interim EAD from Dallas DO can help clear up things.

intirim EAD

I just came back from Local Orlando INS office, they are no longer issuing any temp EAD card. So I think all local offices are different
