EAD Renewal Approved!!!!

Guys, Just found out this morning my EAD renewal I sent to TSC February 20, 2003 just got approved April 19, 2003. Whao thats fast for TSC. The month by month processing times for TSC, I dont think they follow that. For I-485, I think they are way ahead of 2001, thats my two cents.

1.- did you apply by yourself or used a lawyer?
2.- what documents you sent with you application?
3.- did you use " C 9" for the case classification?
4.- is it true that if you sent the top portion of your first approval notice (ead for 797) they will speed it up the process.

Alfredo, Here is the answer to your questions.

1. I applied by myself and not through my lawyer

2. The documents I sent was the top portion of the
first approval, filing fees and two photo pictures

3. For question 3 I dont remember wheather I use C 9, but you
can find it in the instruction pages when you download the
forms from BCIS website. Just follow the instructions in there
is self explanatory.

4. Is true when you file with the top portion of the first approval
they speed up the approval. Ex my own EAD was to expire May
5, 2003, I applied for my renewal Feb 20, 2003 and I got my
approval April 19, 2003.

I am applying for EAD renewal myself.

I do not understand what is "Top portion of Approval". First time my lawyer applied my EAD and I received my Card.

I am attaching following documents, Can you please verify?

1. 2 Passport Size Photographs specialy taken for INS purpose
2. I-140 approval notice
3. I-765 Receipt Notice (Previous One)
4. Front and Back side of the EAD Card
5. I-485 Receipt Notice
6. I-94 Departure Record (from Passport)
7. $120.00 Fees
8. Marriage Certificate for my wife

Please let me know if I need any thing else to add.

Top portion of approval comes with your previous EAD approval card.
If you remember, the card comes attached to a sheet of paper They also mention on this paper to retain the portion for further extensions.
Top portion of this paper is a detachable section with your A#. It just helps INS to locate your prev file. However, its not a must to attach this. As long as you dont do a typo while filling your form, you are fine.
 
EAD Renewal

Usually how many days (100 days?) before EAD expires should we file EAD renewal and BCIS will accept it? If the EAD renewal case is pending and I'm going to change my address, what should I do? May I use my friend's address on the EAD renewal form (c/o ......)? Thanks!

Thanks for your quick response for my previous question.

Yesterday I have mailed EAD Renewal for myself and for my wife in the same envelop with the following documents:

Form I-765 completed and signed
2 Passport Photographs (A# and name written on the back)
$120 for EAD issuance fee
Original Form I-797D
Copy of current EAD (front and back side)
Copy of I-485 Receipt Notice
Copy of I-765 Receipt Notice (Current One)
Copy of I-140 Approval Notice
Copy of Printed Pages in the Passport (including I-94 Arrival/Departure Record)

One thing is bothering me after I sent it I realize that I should have sent my last year Tax Return Papers and the current pay stub to prove my employment status. Do you think it is necessary?

It bothers me a lot.
