My EAD renewal was denied based on I-485 denial. If I-485 is reopened, what happens to the denied EAD. Can the applicant ask USCIS to reopen the EAD or needs to file a new application?

It is correct for initial filing. But if you apply for renewal or a second EAD (not concurrently with an I-485), you need to pay the fee separately.
my wife also has the same problem... they denied both. I read on the 485 filing instructions that if you file EAD in conjuction with EAD, you do not need to pay fees for EAD. Someone please confirm this for me?
