I would like to apply for EAD renewal using e-file . My previous EAD expired in November 2003. I did not apply for EAD since I am still on my H1B. I would like to know if i can e-file since my first EAD already expired.

If I can, is it considered
a renewal of my Permission to accept employment or
Permission to accept employment.

Any suggestion will be highly appereciable.

----- Better send the EAD renewal documents by mail and out side the envelope write in big bold letters “ Form I-765 for Employment authorization document (EAD)

Attach the Fees check to USCIS for $120, Top mailer that you got with first EAD, fill up the form I-765, attach 2 photographs attach copy of pending I-485 receipt attach copy of expired EAD (front and back) if service center is NSC then also attach Color copy of your driving license and first page of passport that has your photograph, DOB, and Passport # ( VSC also sent RFE to few for Color copy of DL and PP)
Write on the cover letter your name, I-485 pending# and your A# (that is on I-485 filing receipt) and your complete address write the documents attached in order on cover letter and sign the cover letter and mail the envelope to service center correct address
** I read few cases efiled go to different service center and delay in EAD Mail is much better and no confusion
