EAD rebewal for J2 applied; should I apply for waiver?

Hi,

I am on a J1 visa with 2 years HRR. My wife is on a J2 and she has recently applied for renewal of her employment authorization(EAD).
I have the necessary documents to apply for a waiver of my 2 yeard HRR. If I apply for the waiver while my wife's EAD renewal is pending, can it cause any problems in processing of her EAD?
I will really appreciate any advice in this regard.

Not at all, they are completely separate issues, I did it before.
