My husband and I filed our EAD petitions last year. It took a long time to get my EAD in this May, but my husband did not receive his EAD until now.
I filed my petition for SSN two and a half months ago. The officer told me they must wait for the result from INS. I checked the state twice, but I was told that I must wait. Can I start to work with my EAD even if I do not have SSN?
Our lawyer told my husband that he can go to the local INS office to get his EAD at once with the EAD notice and the cancelled check. But the INS officer rejected him and told him to cantact VSC because his EAD has been approved. The local INS can not issue the EAD unless he file a new petition. I don't know that it happens only in NJ, or over the county, or INS change the rule recently.
Anybody has the same experience? What will we need to do?
