Hi,

My EAD has been pending since October 2002. I have iEAD in hand and it is going to expire in 4 months. I called BCIS and was told an enquiry was file but I have not heard any thing for more than 30 days. What should I do? File another EAD before 90 days iEAD exprie day? or wait?

What is the status of original EAD once iEAD issued? Please help thanks.

linsaw,

I suggest you apply for the renewal before 3 months of your existing EAD expiry date.

In the past in some cases, people have received the EAD(based of the application) even after they have gone to the local INS office and got the iEAD.

There should be nothing for you to worry about unless you dont file your renewal ontime.

MrCoolz,

Thanks for the reply. I will renew EAD in one month time to start another 90 days. It looks like the pending one will be useless in a month.

What I want to get clear is that technically the pending EAD is still pending, then I should be able to get another iEAD upon current one expiring unless the decision is made on pending case. But BCIS may not work that way.

another way

Linsaw,

Maybe here's another way out for you - why dont you apply for your EAD renewal(based on the iEAD) rightaway and showing that as a pending EAD application you can still get another iEAD from the local office.
Atleast you save quite a lot of time and also will not be in a situation to be out of work for lack of EAD.

Currently filed for enquiry, haven't received anything. Interim EAD will expire on 10/29 Lawer suggested to get 2nd iEAD.

You may run out of time

Jaysys,

There was a post on some where else. When person went for 2nd iEAD, it was told that he needs to file another EAD while he got one pending case. In that case he has to out of work before 90 days hit for his new EAD. It sounds ridiculous, but it happens.

Please update your 2nd iEAD case once you done, thanks.
