EAD Question

This is for my friend.

He is on H-1 and got Labor cert.approved.

He is applying for I-140, I-485 and for EAD at the same time. He has a wife and minor child( 5 yrs. old), Does he needs to apply for EAD just for his wife and himself or does he needs to apply for his child too ? My understanding is you only have to apply for EAD if you would want to work, for a child you don't because they are not seeking employment. or do you need it for school admission too?

I know if sounds a stupid question but I just want to make sure that we are not missing anything.

If anyone is willing to hire 5 year old child and child wants to work and law permits a 5 year old to be hired, you need EAD...

But I don't think that would be the case......

Here is what his lawyer explained to him.

Since his child is also on H-4, EAD wil give him one form of ID. and based on that ID his son wil be able to get SSN( Social Security Number) too which he does not have because he is on H-4. In Nebrask center it is very difficult to get SSN if you are on H-4. EAD is not just for employment but it can be used as a form of ID (Picture ID)if needed anywhere incase.

I doubt very much if INS will issue and EAD for a 5yo. Whats the hurry for getting an SSN# for your child? He does have an TIN# for tax purposes.

EAD and Advance Parole

My labor got approved last week and I am sending my paperwork everything by this week for filling I-140/485 and I also want to Apply EAD/Advance Parole for me and my wife

My Attorney is charging me additional money for processing

EAD and Advance Parole each $300 for each person for EAD and $300 for each person for Advance Parole, So Total = $1200.

When I asked my Attroney he says there are not included on the Greencard process, These are additional and says if I caanot pay for this he advices me to do-it-by-yourself.

I have to PAY everything from my pocket, And I am planning to ask him that, I will prepere ADVANCE Parole documents and send it to him and he can apply along with -140/485 Process.

Can any one advice
1)Can we do our own Advance parole application ??
2) Will there will be any querry's if I apply Advance Parole and EAD by Attorney??
3) Is it easy to Prepere Advance Parole??
