EAD Question...

Guys, I am in a sticky situation...
I applied for my EAD @ the local office (Detroit)
on Jul (about 60 days now..).
My check has not been cashed yet, nor have I recieved
any communication from the INS office...
I have about 110 days since my H-1 expires..

As a back up, can I apply for EAD @ NSC ?
If I apply at NSC and then I get my EAD from Detriot,
can I cancel my application at NSC ???

Any ideas ????

Also, is there anyone who recently applied/recvd EAD from Detroit ????
